Landscape Artist
Tim Yorke-Dunne
Capturing the dramatic landscape of Dartmoor and the coast of Devon and Cornwall.

Artist Biography
Tim is a Dartmoor born landscape artist who has developed a reputation for capturing the unique atmosphere of the West Country, reflecting the wild beauty of Dartmoor, Devon, and Cornwall.
Tim studied Art & Design in Devon before obtaining his honours degree at Oxford.
Having returned to the region several years ago, he now creates landscape paintings from his small studio in the Tamar Valley.
His work continues to resonate with collectors across the United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, the United States and the Far East.
Tim’s paintings are explorations of mood and shifting light. Each of his pieces are influenced by a lifetime spent forming a deep, spiritual connection with the moors and the coastline.
His work captures the contrast between permanence and transience — granite tors and clifftops standing against skies and ocean that shift by the minute.
Whether exhibited in galleries or commissioned for private collections, Tim’s paintings invite viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with the elemental character of the moors and coastline.

Painting Style
Tim’s work often blends an impressionist style with that of abstraction, portraying moorland, dramatic skies, and rugged coastlines, with textured brushwork and earthy tones.
His paintings evoke the drama of nature; storm clouds breaking over tors, sunlight piercing through the gloom, and the epic coastline and ever-changing light of the west country.
His work echoes the tradition of past landscape artists, while bringing a contemporary eye to his approach. This results in the creation of evocative pieces that feel timeless, grounded in place and alive with atmosphere as his techniques are applied to capture how a place feels in a passing moment.
